On 1 April 2019, the Berlin state government and Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin signed a Climate Protection Agreement. This agreement sees Charité commit to a 20 percent reduction in CO2 emissions by 2028. A range of measures will be implemented to meet this emissions reduction target, which is equivalent to more than 25,000 metric tons. Another key component of the agreement is a commitment to improving employee environmental awareness and making sustainability issues an integral part of teaching and training.
