Event for expert public only

Unconscious bias is human - but it also leads us to automatically like people who are similar to us, to be suspicious of strangers and to take mental shortcuts by automatically filling in missing information about others.
Dear Colleagues,
The CRC 1340 is pleased to invite you to the workshop "Unconscious Bias". The half-day workshop will take place on 08.11. from 09:30 a.m. - 01:00 p.m. at the Charité Campus Mitte, Charitéplatz 1, 10117 Berlin. Participation is free of charge.
Description of the workshop content: Unconscious bias is human - but it also leads us to automatically like people who are similar to us, to be suspicious of strangers and to take mental shortcuts by automatically filling in missing information about others. The workshop will start with background information on unconscious bias: how our brain works and how the filter of experiences, learned images and culture almost imperceptibly influences our decisions. The aim is to find a conscious way of dealing with automatic thought patterns and hidden prejudices. Awareness of diversity will be raised and approaches for one's own practice will be developed.
Due to the limited number of participants, we will allocate places in the order of registration. Any places that become free will be allocated via a waiting list. Registrations for the workshop are due now until 11.10.2019 to.
